Local Food Initiative Coordinator Overview Partridge Creek Farm (PCF) is seeking an intern to help design and manage a system for collecting data and evaluating the impact of PCF’s Local Food Initiative. The Local Food Initiative is a program to build and install raised bed gardens at local residences throughout Marquette County and serves three primary purposes: Establish and expand a supply of family grown produce throughout the community To inspire members of the local community to become produce gardeners To build a community of friends who share their experiences as a group This is also a business initiative. The beds are sold at a 35% profit margin with proceeds going to sustain the educational programs PCF offers to the community for free. Projects/Goals Design and build a database capable of tracking bed and crop activities from soil amendments to planting schedules, produce harvests, and bed recipient’s feedback to qualitative experience questions. Create an interactive method for staying in contact with Bed recipients and tracking their experiences. Work with staff, interns and volunteers to organize install new beds and soil. Establish systems with an eye toward continuity from year to year as project continues to grow.
